The GBSS INC. is an incorporated
community organisation, which works toward
improving the quality of life of people
with disabilities in the Granite Belt region.
Services provided include respite care,
supported accommodation, sport and recreation
programs, disability education and occupational
therapy and physiotherapy in education.
We provide services to assist people with
disabilities and special needs to be included
in all aspects of community life.
SERVICES WE PROVIDE INCLUDE
- Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy
For
children from birth onwards to promote
the growth of learning, development
and educational opportunities.
- Supported Accommodation
Provides
support for people with disabilities
to live safely and ecurely in the accommodation
of their choice and to participate in
the life of the community.
- RESPITE CARE
Provides
a flexible service to families and carers
of people with disabilities. The aim
of this service is to give a break by
providing time off, information and
support.
- SPORT AND RECREATION
Programs
promote and provide opportunities for
people with disabilities and special
needs to participate in sport and recreation.
- DISABILITY EDUCATION PROGRAM
Provides
information, support and work shops
to community members interested in improving
the quality of life for people with
disabilities.
- MOVING AHEAD
Works with
young people with disabilities to meet
the challenge of leaving school and
entering into adult life. The service
is flexible and responds to each young
person in a different way.
